Mini Amazing Race

Together w my colleagues BB, CM & BK, I went on a Singapore version of a 1-day amazing race challenge around Singapore tdy. This race, called the Eco-Challenge was organized by the Singapore Envt. Council.

It started from the *Scape Youth Park near Soumerset and was all ard Singapore. At the starting point, we were given a sheet of 8 clues and a bus guide to help us (btw, all public rides were free during the race). The first step was finding the 8 locations (which were City Hall, Tanjong Pagar, Jurong East, Clementi, Botanic Grdns, Bishan, Toa Payoh & Tampines). The next step was to plan our route (using public transport ONLY) and return as soonest possible.

This was our route:
1) MRT to Tanjong Pagar (A Boutique). Task: Come up w a story w some keywords.
2) MRT to City Hall. Task: Give out 10 flyers.
3) MRT to Tampines (Sun Plaza Park). Task: Sort out the odd recycling item in 3 black bags.
4) MRT to Jurong East. Task: Fill up a crossword puzzle.
5) MRT to Clementi & feeder bus to a bicycle shop. Task: Fold a foldable bicycle.
6) Feeder bus back to Clementi & bus to Botanic Gardens. Task: Find scientific names of 2 heritage trees.
7) Bus to Orchard MRT & MRT to Bishan. Task: Solve a maths quiz on hybrid car fuel comnsumption.
8) MRT to Toa Payoh. Task: Solve a maths quiz on parking charges.
9) MRT back to Somerset.

Started at 10.30am and finished by 3.10pm.

Wat an amazing adventure & a good workout... running like crazy.... can't imagine doing this for 30 over days like those in the Amazing Race... hats off to them. esp those old folks.
