'BLACK'

Just watched a hindi movie called 'BLACK'.

It is an inspiring story of a visually and hearing impared little girl and her teacher who dreamt of having a normal life...normal life for those of us who are normal but it is a tremendous challenge for those who are impaired. It also gives us an insight into how it feels to be impaired, including the emotional, physical, etc challenges that these people face everyday.

This movie also gave a new meaning to the colour of 'black'. It doesn't represent despair or hopelessness, but it is a meaning of fighting your fears and obstacles and triumphing in these challenges.

It invokes a feeling of gratitute to what you have and to do the best to your abilities. We may have alot of obstacles in life, but there are others who are in much worse situation that us but they still make an extraordinary effort to achieve their dreams and goals.

This movie basically recharged my spirits to lead a more wonderful life. Despite of all the challenges that I face, these are nothing compared to the challeneges faced by an impaired person. I take my hat off to these people. They are a real everyday inspiration to live life to the fullest.

Everyday is a new day and always remember to make it a wonderful day ^_^

ATI Competition Results....

It is with a very heavy heart to announce that I didnot win any prizes in the ATI competition, eventhough my invention was very novel. However, all is not lost and I walked away with new found knowledge and experiences. I am very grateful for that ^_^

Apparently, having a novel idea was not enough and the invention had to be fully functional. The winner's inventions were not very novel at all but they were fully functional and that was what was lacking in my prototype. My prototype basically demonstrated the successful implementation of my concept but it is still in its infancy stage and much more work needs to be carried out before I can create the ultimate product. This idea was basically a adaptation of the main research idea that I'm working on.

Well, as the saying goes...'Failure is the first step to success' and with that, I shall further develop my project and try again next year.
